Vidya Bharati Alumni - D M Awasthi Appointed As New Chhattisgarh DGP

The newly-elected Congress government in Chhattisgarh has appointed D M Awasthi as new Director General of Chhattisgarh Police, who is also an prestigious alumni of Vidya Bharati school ' Deen Dayal Vidyalya, Kanpur'.

Awasthi, a 1986-batch IPS officer, is currently the Special Director General (Anti-Naxal Operations),will now head Anti-Naxal Operations, EoW, SIB, ACB.

He has replaced A N Upadhyay, who has now been appointed as Chairman of Chhattisgarh Police Housing Corporation (CGPHC).
