Mr. Shailendra Pratap Singh Lodhi an alumnus of  Shri Suraj Prasad Daga Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Kasganj, UP is a teacher by profession and a devoted social worker. As a part of community service, he has been teaching village children free of cost since 2002. Recently he shared his experience via an interview, whose extract has been given below.

Interviewer :  Kindly share some details about your academic and professional journey so far.

Mr. Lodhi : I was a student of Shri Suraj Prasad Daga Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Kasganj till class 12. After passing out in 2006, I did my BA from Excellent Degree College, Agra and later on did double MA in Political science and English.

From early childhood, I was very clear about my aim in life and have always wanted to become a teacher. So after Masters, I did my B.Ed from Ganjdundwara P.G College and my M.Ed from Acme Institute, Agra. Later I completed my BTC from Adarsh Janta Mahavidyalaya, Girora in 2016. Presently I am working as a Govt. teacher in UP Basic Education Department. I am also preparing for my NET examinations as well.

Interviewer :  Please tell us something about your social work

Mr. Lodhi : As I have already shared that I had decided to become a teacher from a very young age and have worked towards it diligently. Along with being a teacher I was also passionate about social work since my school day and always tried to do my part, no matter the circumstances. I have been involved with social work since 2002.  I started teaching children from nearby villages free of cost while I was in class 9 and have continued to do the same throughout my career. No matter how busy I became with my studies, I always made it a point to take out time to teach the children.

I have always believed that in order to make our country prosperous , education is the most important tool. Presently I have started a campaign named 'chhatra mela '. Under this campaign, we organise student fairs in villages with an aim of providing all round development to the children. Till date we have held such fairs in approximately 50 villages and the campaign has received immense support from the local residents.

I would like to say that Vidya Bharati has had a very big and significant contribution towards whatever I am today.

Mr. Lodhi : Yes, I still keep in touch with my gurus and often visit  my school as well. I am also associated with the Alumni Council of the school.

I want to end our talk by saying that my school days have provided me with endless support and fond memories . I would like to urge all Vidya Bharati students to make their school days worthwhile…..work hard and remember the life lessons. It will always inspire you in every stage of your life. You can never repay your debts towards your gurus, but keep their lessons in your heart work for the betterment of your country.
