Komal Shrivastava, an alumni of S.V.M Kanya Sen. Sec. Vidya Mandir, Gwalior is presently working as assistant professor in computer application at NITM College. She is a passionate teacher, leading a fulfilling life, but her life has not been always so smooth sailing.

Komal faced several hurdles before reaching where she is now presently. Her family underwent through severe financial problems and she herself suffered from various health issues.

She was passionate about computer from childhood and wanted to become an engineer, but due to financial constraints she was unable to do so. Refusing to give up she started her teaching career at a coaching institute where she taught computer to housewives. She kept on pushing and after clearing several rounds of interviews, got the chance to join as an assistant professor at NITM College, where she has been teaching for last two years.

Shrivastava says that the teachers in her school had constantly motivated their students to pursue their dreams, which had helped her to fight for her own dreams. Now she lives by the same motto and encourages her students to follow their life goals. Her school day experiences have taught her that demotivating the students won’t help in their career growth.

According to her, the ‘sanskars’ that she learnt from her school, has assisted her to become a well grounded and morally strong person. She hopes that she can pass on the same life lessons to her students as well.

Komal’s dedication to her profession and her positive attitude towards life is exemplary.
