Mr. Arun Kumar Mishra, an alumnus of Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Kumhartoli, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand is a man who has several achievements and awards under his name.  The Controller of Examination, UCET, VBU ( University College of Engineering and Technology) has also served as a member of his school’s management committee and is a part of Vidya Bharati  Purv Chatra Parishad. Recently Mr. Mishra shared his experiences via an interview, whose short extract has been given below.

 

Interviewer: Kindly tell us something about your educational and professional background.

 

Mr. Mishra:  On completion of my schooling , I did my graduation and M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. After qualifying for the GATE examination in 2005, presently I am working as Asst. Professor in the department of Computer Science and Engineering at University College of Engineering and Technology (UCET), Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag, Jharkhand.

I have more than 10  years of teaching Experience and 2 years of industrial experience. Before joining the teaching profession , I had worked at Cognizant Technology Solutions India Pvt Ltd (Kolkata). Presently I also hold the post of  Controller of Examination and TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement  Program )Coordinator of UCET, VBU.



Interviewer :  What are your achievements in life?

 

Mr. Mishra:  The greatest achievement in my life is the respect and love of my students. Apart from that from a very young age I was very competitive and tried to excel in everything I did. During school days I frequently took  part in inter school plays and quiz competitions. Few of my achievements are as follows:

  • Received Certificate of Merit from Jharkhand Area Autonomous Council (JAAC)  for standing First in Annual Matriculation Examination, 1998 in Hazaribagh District.

  • Received ‘Certificate of Merit’ for securing First position in “Mock Parliament” in EGO-2003, an inter college cultural, literary & sports extravaganza.

  • Received ‘Certificate of Merit’ for securing Second position in “Debate Competition” held at D.I.T Dehradun for the academic year 2002-2003.

  • Received BHU MEDAL in the year 2008, from then the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh for securing First position in M. Tech.

  • My research paper titled “A HOLISTIC APPROACH FOR DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR SUPPLY CHAIN INTEGRATION ” was accepted in the National Conference on  Contemporary Approaches In Design and Manufacturing (CADAM ’06), organized by Deptt. Of Mechanical Engineering, Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu.

  • My The paper titled “The Value of Pi (Π) in Vedic Period” was presented in the National Conference on Recent trends in Mathematics and Their Applications, organized by University Department of Mathematics, Vinoba Bhave University , Hazaribag

Interviewer : What made you take up teaching as a profession?

 

Mr. Mishra: In the words of Swami Vivekananda- '' Teach yourself, teach everyone, his real nature, call upon the sleeping soul and see how it awakes. Power will come, glory will come, goodness will come, purity will come and everything".  As a teacher I recognise my responsibility towards my students, and I try my hardest to motivate them and bring out their best in them. I get great satisfaction, when I see my students excelling in their lives.

 

Interviewer : How did your school impact your life?

 

Mr. Mishra: My school is extremely close to my heart. Whatever success I have achieved in my life, or the person that I have become, a huge part of that is due to the values that I have been taught at my school. Even after completing my schooling, I have served as a member of my school’s management committee and continue to be a part of Vidya Bharati  Purv Chatra Parishad.

Interviewer : Would you like to share any message?

 

Mr. Mishra:  To all Vidya Bharati students I would like to say that - Every student has a natural talent gifted by God, just try to identify that talent. Don’t try to imitate anyone. Work hard on your individual talents and  you will definitely get success in your life.
