A person is not judged by his failures, but his ability to get up and forge ahead in spite of them. In our daily day to day life, we sometimes come across a few inspiring individuals whose dreams are too strong to be stopped by minor setbacks. Vidya Bharati alumnus Mr. Aakash Jain from Jabera Tehsil in Madhya Pradesh is such an individual.

Mr. Jain started his educational journey from Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Jabera, where he had studied till class 10. Later he joined his local governmental school from where he completed his 12th board examination. After finishing his schooling, Mr. Jain joined Takshila Institute Of Engineering and Technology, in order to complete his graduation degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. After graduation he got a job offer from a private company for the post of RF (Radio Frequency) engineer. Most of his work was field oriented and during his time in the job he was posted in several different places. Although the job offered a great deal of on job practical experience, Mr. Jain’s heart was not into it. He had a strong feeling that his future lay elsewhere and left the job after six months.

After leaving the job, he came back to Jabera and started preparing for MP PSU competitive examinations. Mr. Jain has always been academically inclined and he found the life of studying and preparing quite enjoyable. Although he left his career as an engineer and looked at a future filled with uncertainty, he had firm faith in his dreams and his own capabilities. From the year 2013 to 2016 he constantly tried to crack the examination, but each year at some level or the other he failed to clear them. Finally in 2015, Mr. Jain’s hard work and determination was fruitful. Not only did he clear the examination successfully, he got several job offers as well. Finally he took up the post of ‘Commercial Tax Inspector’ in Jabalpur, where he had been working ever since.

Presently his job role includes collection of commercial taxes, maintaining revenue records, fixing taxes to be collected from various authorities, filing pay-role, sales and property taxes, and much more.

His struggles has made Mr. Jain realise the plight of students who are in the same place that he had overcome. Thus when his time permitted, he made it a point to guide and coach students who aim to crack governmental competitive exams. When asked what suggestion he would like to give to students wanting to follow a similar professional path to his, Mr. Jain pointed out that first and foremost, the students should be aware of their own interests. Secondly they should do research, know the subjects and syllabus for the examinations well. Lastly the students should do self-appraisal to see whether they are being able to match up with the requirements.

Speaking about his school, Mr. Jain praised the dedication and support of the teachers towards their students. He also mentioned that alongside academics, the culture and extracurricular activities encouraged in their school had resulted in personality development among all the alumni of the school. The only suggestions that he had was to introduce English as a medium of study, keeping in account the unique culture of Vidya Bharati. Mr. Jain feels that if the right balance can be achieved, the students will have a great edge in the modern competitive world.

Talking about his family, Mr. Jain said that he has five members in his family, including his father, mother, grandmother, uncle and his wife, his wife and younger brother, who is a nayab tehsildar in Rahatgarh Teh Sagar.

Before ending the interview, he urged all Vidya Bharati students to work hard, and to never give up on their dreams. No matter what their profession is, they should all work towards nation building alongside building individual careers.
