In conversation with Prashant Kumar Gupta - Accountant and Vidya Bharati alumni from Siliguri

Shri Prashant Kumar Gupta, an alumnus of Sarada Sishu Teertha, Suryasen Colony, Vidya Bharati School has studied in the school till fifth standard, but took away life long lessons in the process. In a recent interview with Vidya Bharati Purv Chatra alumni portal team he shared his experiences.

 

Interviewer:  Kindly tell us something about your professional and academic background.

Mr. Gupta : - I am an alumnus of Sarada Sishu Tirtha, Suryasen Colony, located in Siliguri, West Bengal. I have passed my class 5 from this School and after that I had gone to Siliguri Boys School from where I completed my 12th in the year 2015. After my schooling, I graduated with B.COM (Hons) from Siliguri College of Commerce in 2018. Presently I have taken admission in IGNOU for my master degree in commerce. Along with my studies I am also doing a full time job as a back office accountant in Siliguri , at Lahoti Roy & Associates since 2018. 


 

Interviewer:  Kindly tell us something about your family background.

Mr. Gupta: - I stay in Siliguri with my parents. My father is a Business man for many years now.


 

Interviewer: Are you associated with any kind of social work? 

Mr. Gupta: - From a very early age, I have been taught the importance of serving those in need by my parents and teachers, thus I try to help out to the best of my ability whenever the occasion calls. During natural disasters and festivals I take initiative to arrange and donate funds to the different causes.


 

Interviewer:  Do you want to say something about your school or Vidya Bharati in general?

Mr. Gupta: -  I am thankful that I got to spend my formative years under Vidya Bharati. Along with good academics, our teachers made sure that we received sound knowledge about our culture and take pride in our rich heritage. Sanskrit, ‘Sanskar’ and Yoga were important parts of our education. We learnt  to serve our society and help those in need. All the lessons instilled by our teachers have become a part of my personality.
