The course of development of Mathematics in India is quite unique and fascinating. The subject had developed parallelly and independently of Chinese and Babylonian mathematics in the Indian subcontinent. Some very advanced mathematical discoveries were made quite early in India. Several ancient texts illuminate very clearly, the high level of growth the subject had reached in ancient India.

Most people are well aware of the importance of the subject in every aspect of life, but in spite of its usefulness, many students find the subject difficult to comprehend and hence lose interest. Aware of this fact, Vidya Bharti alumni, Mr. Ratnesh Kumar, of SSM Bhongaon Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh have discovered several mathematical formulas that would make life easier for the students. His copyrighted formulas have been published in more than hundreds of books and journals till now.

Mr. Ratnesh Kumar, an alumni of SSM Bhongaon Mainpuri, is presently working as a Maths Teacher at Purv Madhyamik Vidyalaya Gangapur Sultanganj, Mainpuri. His knack for developing new mathematical formulas can be traced back to the year 2005 while  he was pursuing his B.Tech degree and later shifted and started preparing for M.B.A. It was during this period, that he got to know about 20 rules of divisibility and started researching to find out a common formula. He passed his MBA in 2009 and started working in the private sector. In 2011 he decided to leave his job as he did not feel satisfied with his work. He left his job and started  preparing for B.ED and TET exams. He started to provide private coaching to students in 2011.

It was in this year that Mr. Ratnesh Kumar invented the ‘Formula of Divisibility’. His formula was published in  ‘Panchjany National Weekly Magazine’, as well as in ‘Dhamma Deshana’ in January and  Samanya Gyan Darpan in August 2019. Any student preparing for competitive examinations from class 5 to class 12  will find the formula useful to solve mathematical problems in a few seconds. An application for copyright for formula was made in 2012 and copyright registration certificate was received in 2013.

Mr. Kumar invented his second formula, ‘Fastest Great Formula of Divisibility’ in the year 2017 which was copyrighted as well. It was also published in National Monthly Magazines like Dhamma Deshana in January 2020 and in Pratiyogita Darpan magazine in March 2020.

Mr. Kumar received several awards and honours for his remarkable work. Few of which are as follows:

  • National Award

  • Adarsh Shiksha Ratna Samman

  • Kalan Ratna Puraskar-  from Bhartiya Media Foundation and several others.

When asked about the contribution that his school has had on his life, Mr. Kumar elaborated how his school played the role of a mother in his life. It had natured him and taught him life lessons like respecting one’s elders and helping others in need, which he carries in his heart till today.

Mr. Ratnesh Kumar is truly an inspirational figure, whose inventions have helped several students and will continue to do so in the future as well.
