Schools through the medium of education facilitates accumulation of knowledge, life skills and values which helps to develop better life perspective among the students.

In India the passion for education, learning and teaching has always been ingrained in our culture. Proper school facilities are necessary along with quality education to positively impact the students. Spacious classrooms, proper toilets, non contaminated drinking water, etc are few of the most basic needs of a school towards providing a safe and secure environment for the students.

Sadly, many  schools in our country  are not developed enough to provide even the most rudimentary support to education.

Vidya Bharati schools are trying to bring to light, the necessities of proper school infrastructure along with good education, for all round development of students. They are committed towards constant development and providing every aid towards proper growth of their students.

Two Vidya Bharati schools, Sitai Sarada Shishu Tirtha and Batasi Sarada Sishu Teertha have taken remarkable steps towards bringing better education to children.

Shri Gokul Shil, the Principal of Sitai Sarada Shishu Tirtha was facing a problem regarding the accommodation of students. The school had only  1 classroom with 12 partitions which was shared by approximately 500 students. Students used to sit on carpets and the roof of the building was made up of tin. According to him, this was not a conducive environment for proper education.

But as it has been said that where there is a will, there is a way. With help from several well wishers, a new school building was successful inaugurated on 27th December 2018. Several Dignitaries were present at this event including Shri Biswanath Gorai, Vidya Bharati Uttar Banga’s Pranta President , Shri Partha Ghosh, Vidya Bharati Uttar Banga’s Secretary and Shri R.K Gupta who financed the new school building. A ceremonial yagna was performed for a successful start. The new building now has 17 classrooms dedicated towards educating 600 students.

The growth of this school is a testament to the collaborative efforts and hard work of the school Principal and other community members  who contributed towards the noble cause of developing a better and more educated India.

Another similar but remarkable story is that of  Batasi Sarada Sishu Teertha . This school building was rented but the Principal, Shri Bimal Pramukh kept up his fight to build a rent free school building for his students.

With the help of Vidya Bharati’s  Vidya Bikash Parishad, the school was able to purchase new land in Batasi.  Shri Shyamananda Brahmachari of Mohanananda Ashram helped in financing for the foundation of the new school building. The building is expected to be completed by the year 2020. The Bhumi Pujan ceremony was held on 27th January 2019, where a brick was set on the ground for future construction.

The rented school building presently consists of 289 students, 11 teachers and 4 non teaching staff with classes till 4th standard. With the new building under construction, the school’s  Principal plans to increase it till the 8th standard having 500 sq ft classrooms.

Vidya Bharati firmly believes that each child has the right to access proper education with  schools that are equipped to transform them into India’s future assets.
