Every particle of matter in the universe is bound to evolve. While evolution is a continuous process, the action of evolution is what defines the way ahead. Whether one functions superficially or makes a conscious choice of helping others, speaks volumes of one’s compassion. Ritesh Dubey is one such person who has made the conscious choice of serving everyone in need, with an embracing heart, without distinction and without condition.

Ritesh completed his 12th class from the Nagaji Saraswati Vidya Mandir Sr. Sec, Maldepur, Khoripakar, Ballia. He then joined the Banaras Hindu University to complete his graduation in Political Science. He then applied for the Lower PCS (Provincial Civil Service) examination in which he got selected. Due to scarcity of time Ritesh had to complete his Post Graduation through distance learning from YBN University, Chhattisgarh. Presently he works as an Assistant Accounts Officer in Ajamgarh.

Ritesh has been involved in multiple social causes since his school days. “My school empowered me to take active participation in social work”, Ritesh mentioned.

When he was in his 11th class, the Indian anti-corruption movement began under the leadership of Anna Hazare. At this time Ritesh was elected as the Pradhan Mantri of Sanskrit Pranali of his School. He soon started a Jan Andolan in support of Lokpal Bill. “For the first time in Ballia 3500 children participated in the movement with zest”, recalled Ritesh.

He also thought that if he got the privilege of doing higher studies then the needy children must also get its benefit. Ritesh soon made a team of friends and started distributing books, exercise copies and pencils among children of economically poor background.  He also took time out to teach these children for free over the weekends.

The pandemic has been a challenging time for all, but mostly for the daily wage earners. Due to lockdown, many people lost their earnings and did not have money to meet basic necessities of livelihood. “I saw people without food and medicines during the pandemic. I spoke to my friends and asked them for help. They came ahead wholeheartedly and we started to raise funds. Within a short span we were supporting more than 550 families with basic food”, Ritesh mentioned. He also joined the local administration to distribute food packets to over 1000 people.

Ritesh keeps in constant touch with the fellow alumni of his school and college. He has formed a group of BHU Alumni with over 65,000 alumni in the group and School Alumni under the name of Nagaji Maldepur Alumni with 2500 members from Nagaji Saraswati Vidya Mandir Sr. Sec, Maldepur, Khoripakar, Ballia.

Ritesh connected with all the doctors who have passed from his school and have done several online webinars to help people during the pandemic.

He constantly keeps connecting with people who can help and who needs help and acts as a bridge between them.
