Degree College for Women, Karimnagar in 1986 and MSc (botany) from Osmania University in 1988. I wanted to study further, but due to familial circumstances I got married in 1989.

After marriage, my husband is Prof Battu Satyanarayana, who was a lecturer and assistant professor at Osmania University at that time supported me a lot and I was able to complete my PhD in 1993 from Osmania university on ‘Mutagenic and Tissue Culture studies in Pigeon pea’ . Later I also completed my LLB (1998) ,LLM (2015) and MA in Astrology (2010-2011) degrees.

Dr Kiranmayee: My father, late Nimmalapally Satyanarayana, had worked hard to establish himself and support his family. He started working after completing  his class 10th examination. He did his graduation as an external student and even became a gold medallist. He completed his masters degree in 1966 when I was born. So I grew up in a family where education and hard work was given immense importance.

After my marriage, my in- laws and my husband supported me. Without their backing, career wise, I would not have been able to reach my goals. My husband was Assistant Professor at that time.My parents, in laws and husband supported me.

Under this ‘yojna’,  surveys are done on slum area children and provided with free classes.Through Kishori Vikasthe girl children in the age of 12 to 18 in slum areas and go to Govt schools are imparted with education, health tips, yoga, skill development and shlokas along with sadachaaram will be taught to stand on their own feet with dignity and self confidence.

Dr Kiranmayee: Indian leaders Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Bhagat Singh, are my inspiration. Their struggle and sacrifice for our nation motivates me a lot.

Interviewer: Did Vidya Bharati have any impact on your life?

Dr Kiranmayee: The love for my country and the urge to serve my nation stems from the teachings that I received from my school.

My husband wanted me to visit USA along with him for post doctoral fellowship. He wanted me to go abroad and do research work on mutagen and tissue culture, but I preferred to stay here and do something for my own country. So I can fairly say that Vidya Bharati has had a great impact on both my professional and personal life.
