Vidya Bharati alumni, Ravi Kumar Shah of Anandram Dhandhania Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Bhagalpur, Bihar is Chartered Accountant by profession, who is passionate about social work as well. Recently he shared his experiences via an interview, whose excerpt is as follows:

Interviewer: Can you kindly tell us something about your academic and professional background?

Mr. Shah: I have studied in Anandram Dhandhania Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Bhagalpur till 2003 and then passed my graduation in 2008 from Marwari College, Bhagapur.

As I have always loved accounts and numbers, I joined CAI and passed my Chartered Accountants (ICAI) examination in 2012. Presently I am working as a professional

Chartered Accountant for the past eight years in Kolkata, West Bengal.

Interviewer:  How are you associated with social work?

Mr. Shah:  For the past 10 years I have been associated with social service and lent my hand to several social causes.  Among several others, one NGO which is quite close to my heart is that of ‘Siddharth United Social Welfare Mission’. It is an organisation of international repute for rendering humanitarian services and dedicated towards supporting children who are deprived of their fundamental rights in life. There are three centres run by the organisation with its headquarter in Chinar Park, Kolkata. It’s mission is to serve the destitute, tribal children and needy students by providing education, shelter, nutrition, health care, meditation and other services.

I have also been part of several CSR activities organised by ICAI.

Interviewer:  Did your school have any impact on your life?

Mr. Shah:  I believe that the mode of education given by Vidya bharati schools is among one of the best in this country. Great importance is given towards developing discipline and good behaviour among the students. Also the soft skills that are taught alongside traditional academics has personally helped me a lot. I always foundly look back to my school days, which were probably one of my life’s best days.I still try and stay connected with my school through its official facebook page.

Interviewer: Would you like to give any message to Vidya Bharati and its students?

Mr. Shah:  The only suggestion that I would like to give to Vidya Bharati, that it should lay more stress on English language, so that the students are more equipped for the present globally competitive scenario.

To all students, I would advise them to work hard and give their best in whatever they do in life. Exams marks are just a number but your hard work will always pay you in the future.

Vidya Bharati Purv Chatra Parishad thanks Mr. Shah for taking out time and sharing his views with the community.
