Naman Nishesh an alumni of Saraswati Vidya Mandir Puraniganj, Munger Bihar is a researcher  at Indian School of Business on Finance at Hyderabad. He is a graduate from IIT Kharagpur and plans to become a professor in the future.

Following is a small extract of Naman’s telephonic interview with representative of Vidya Bharati Purv Chatra Parisad.

Interviewer : What role has Vidya Bharati in general, and your school in particular played in shaping you as the person you are today?

Naman : For me Vidya Bharati had a significant role towards shaping my life and career. My  own father Dr Kamal Kishore is Rashtriya Sah Mantri of Vidya Bharati so the roots of Vidya Bharati’s love for education, it’s ‘sanskar’ and culture is already in my blood. In our school, the teachers always encouraged the development of one’s moral fabric, by providing good academic environment along with character building activities.Due to their efforts, today I have a firm grip on Hindi and Indian culture, which according to me is very important.

Interviewer : What would be your message to the students, who want to follow a path similar to yours?

Naman : I have always believed that hard work is the only road to success. I could have easily applied directly for PHD but rather, chose the path of a researcher because it helps to build a stronger base. If someone wants to become a professor and is passionate about learning, doing PHD is a must. Although it takes 6 years to complete the course and become a successful Professor, my advice is that one should go through the process as it gives immense opportunity to access knowledge even in foreign countries.

Interviewer : Who is your inspiration in life?

Naman : My parents who are both professors by profession have always been my inspiration. They always advised me to choose education as a career because it is such a field where you can get an opportunity to explore and grow your knowledge while educating others. My love for teaching and taking it up as a my chosen career path  has been possible only because of my parents who never forced me to earn without completing my education first.

Vidya Bharati alumni portal thanks Naman for sharing his valuable views with others.
