In the present day fast paced life, people often forget or don't have the inclination to think or take action to help others in need. One becomes so engrossed in daily grind that they don't have time to spare time for betterment of the society, country or environment. 

 

Traditionally Indian culture has given much value to the act of social service and social responsibility. The same values have been promoted by all Vidya Bharati schools, resulting in generations of alumni working towards the betterment of the society and environment around them. One such social conscious alumnus is Shri Gunti Srinivas from Telangana.

 

Mr. Srinivas is an ex student of Sri Saraswathi Shishu Mandir, Huzurabad, located in Karimnagar district of Telangana. He had studied in the school till 7th standard and passed out in the year 1981.

 

Professionally he is a businessman with experience of running a successful business for over two decades. His  M/s G. Ramamurthy, industry is in the business of manufacturing cement spun and RCC pipes. He employs several workers under him.

 

Along with being a well established business person, Mr. Srinivas is an avid social worker and is associated with several social projects. In 1996 he started Vivekananda Youth Association aimed at development of local youth and harnessing the passion of such individuals for betterment of the society. Till date the organisation has been running successfully for over 20 years. 

 

He also organises regular Village health camps, blood donation camps and plantation drives. For the past 14 years Mr. Srinivas has been guiding as the president of a men’s Thrift cooperative society, named Swami Vivekananda Purushula Podupu Sangam in Huzurabad, which he had started more than a decade ago. The organization was started in order to provide financial help and stability to village residents and make them self-sufficient. He is also associated with RSS and runs several social development projects with their help.

 

While speaking about his childhood school, Mr. Srinivas thanked his teachers for helping him to understand the importance of Social service and gave them full credit to them for inspiring him to be a responsible citizen. He is still in contact with his school and acts as the treasurer.
