Shri Arijit Das, an alumnus of Sarada Sishu Teertha, Suryasen Colony, has studied in the school till class 4.  Recently, the banker from West Bengal, shared his experiences with Vidya Bharati Purv Chatra team via a short interview which has been given below:

Interviewer:  Kindly tell us something about your professional and academic background.

Mr. Das - I am an alumnus of Sarada Sishu Teertha, Surya Sen Colony. I have passed my fourth standard from this school and then shifted to Hindu School Kolkata from where I passed out my 12th in the year 1996. After my schooling, I have done my graduation in B Com from SA Jaipuria College in the year 1999 and  passed M Com degree in the year 2001 from Calcutta University. I have also achieved my Chartered Accountant degree parallely. Currently I am working in Punjab National Bank for more than 3 years as a manager.

Interviewer:  Kindly tell us something about your family background.

Mr. Das - As mentioned I hail from Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal and presently residing with my family in Kolkata  which consists of my wife and kids

Interviewer: Are you associated with any kind of social work?

Mr. Das - I have been taught to think about and serve others before oneself by my school, teachers and parents and thus help out in any manner as I can. Recently during the lockdown period, I donated and helped the needy with food and basic essentials. I believe that social work is not about the quantity but the quality of work. One should always try to achieve a positive impact through one’s work.

Interviewer:  Do you want to say something about your school or Vidya Bharati in general?

Mr. Das - I feel very fortunate to have received the chance to study under the guidance of Vidya Bharati and my teachers during my most formative years of life. The values that I had received as a child have helped me throughout my life.

I feel if the foundation of any student is as good as that of students from Vidya Bharati, his/her future will always be bright. The education imparted by Vidya Bharati schools focuses on overall development of a student and not just mere studies.

I would like to urge all Vidya Bharati students to never forget what Vidya Bharati has taught us and always strive for societal and national development in whatever capacity that you can.
