Nestled amidst lush greenery and peaceful atmosphere is Vidya Bharati’s school Saraswati Shishu Niketan, Dalu in Assam. Where good schools with all facilities are a rare find, Shishu Niketan is thriving with a total student strength of 689.

Established in February 1997, the school has grown in leaps and bounds within a short period of time. Shri Meghanjan Chakraborty, alumni of the school, ex teacher and presently holding a position in Vidya Bharati, reminisced  how the school had a very humble beginning, where there was no school building when the school first started. The classes took place in a nearby governmental school building with only 17 students. Slowly nearby land was acquired and a temporary school building made of bamboo was made. Recently in 2019 the present 3 story building construction was completed.

During the recent Covid 19 pandemic lockdown, the school discharged their social responsibility, as the school authorities  arranged to deliver essential supplies and food to the local community.

While talking about the school, Shri Meghanjan Chakraborty ji stated that though the school cannot be compared to the big schools located in urban areas of India in regards to overall look and amenities, the most valuable gift that they  have received is the love and respect of the local population, for bringing the light of education to a place  which was almost inaccessible earlier.
