Ritesh Pathak, an alumni of Mahaviri Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Siwan, Bihar is a man of diverse talent. He is an officer in Indian Information Service (IIS) and currently heading the Regional News Unit of All India Radio in Silchar (Assam). Mr.Pathak also holds the honor of being the youngest editor of Hindi monthly ‘YOJANA’, (published by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting) at the age of 25.

Apart from his professional achievements, Mr.Pathak is closely associated with several social activities and organizations. He is a founder member of ‘Sabhyata Adhyayan Kendra’- a socio-cultural think tank and ‘Swasth Bharat’ - a health advocacy group. He is also an active member of ‘Akhil Bhartiya Mithila Sangh’ which is a 50 years old organization that works for development of Mithila region, Maithili Language and Maithil Culture. All these organizations are based in Delhi.

The organisation, ‘Sabhyata Adhyayan Kendra’, also known as Center for Civilisational Studies (CCS) was founded in the year 2013. Mr Pathak feels that Indian cultural studies as a subject is given importance only in educational institutions but apart from that it is slowly losing its shine among the young generation. In order to preserve the integrity of great India culture, Ritesh Pathak, along with a few of his  friends, laid the foundation of this organization. The CCS regularly organizes seminars, programs etc in various universities and colleges of Delhi, as well as publishes a quarterly journal ‘SABHYATA SAMVAD targeted towards Indian youth.

‘Swasth Bharat’ is an advocacy group that regularly raises its voice for better health facilities and infrastructure in India. Mr. Ritesh has been associated with this group from the time its conception, back in 2012. The organization has successfully organized two pan India rallies (Swasth Bharat Yatra 2017 & 2019) for awareness on health related issues. The Yatra in 2017 had reached out to over 2 lakh school girls on the issue of girl-child health. The 2019 Yatra focused on the availability of cheaper medicines is presently underway.

Mr. Pathak is also an active member of ‘Akhil Bhartiya Mithila Sangh’ (ABMS), Delhi. ABMS was founded in the year 1950 in Kolkata to preserve Maithili language and culture of Mithila. Later, it shifted to Delhi. Several developments in Mithila (Northern Bihar), such as struggle for Meter Gage Rail Line in Mithila region, inclusion of Maithili language in the 8th Schedule of Indian constitution, development of Airport at Darbhanga, setup of regular flood relief camps etc. have been the result of the efforts made by the organization.

Mr. Pathak aims to restore the glory of Maithili language and with that aim started ‘TEERBHUKTI’ journal in Maithili language in the year 2017.

Ritesh Pathak is an inspirational person who has devoted his life towards social service.

According to him, it was his school that installed in him the inclination towards protecting Indian culture and Indian value system.
