Retired Air Force officer, Shri CBR Prasad donates to Vidya Bharati for Nation Building

On 29th December 2019, on the occasion of ‘Poorva Vidyarthi Maha Sammelan’ in Hyderabad, Retired Air Force officer, Shri CBR Prasad, announced in front of the gathered alumni that he would like to  donate his land in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad amounting to approximately more than 20 crores for development of Vidya Bharati schools and hopes that more children would get the opportunity to get educated under the umbrella of Vidya Bharati schools. 

Shri CBR Prasad is a true nationalist, who has dedicated his entire life to the service of his motherland. Mr. Prasad, hailing from Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh had a humble beginning. He joined the Indian Air Force in the year 1964 and served the nation for nine years until 1973. After retiring from the Air Force, he started his own poultry farming business, working hard to establish himself. 

He might have left the army, but his will to serve his nation remained strong. Armed with the aim of  helping others, he started a sports university : ‘CBR Academy of Sports and Education’ to promote sports by sponsoring talented youngsters. The academy provides coaching in athletics, archery, weightlifting and tennis. What makes this academy unique is that all the facilities and training is free of cost along with residential and boarding facilities. The academy has two campuses, one in Telangana and another in Andhra Pradesh. Several students from this academy have competed successfully in international arena and made the country proud by winning medals.

Recently Shri CBR Prasad, had also donated 1.8 crore rupees to the Indian defence forces in a bid to help the Indian soldiers.

Shri CBR Prasad is a firm believer of social service, as he feels that it is the responsibility of every citizen to give back to society in order to build a strong nation.
